Designed a hand pone that could be encapsulated in silicone gloves with a real hand skin texture. The designed pone had to allow the user to be able to mimic normal hand posture and movement. In addition, it had to enable the user to grab items up to five kg.
The designed bones included strings that allowed the user to move the hand and grab items. In addition, the bones could be disassembled from the silicon rubber. The hand had sturdy fingers and smooth movement to have an excellent experience mimicking the hand posture and movements.
CAD development was carried out to refine and enhance the modular design for the hand bones. Time was spent developing a sturdy module to make it possible for the user to move the fingers, grab items smoothly, and get it out from the silicon gloves for maintenance.
A series of prototypes were created using a combination of 3D Scanning and 3D printing to allow the hand pones to be tested and refined before creating the final piece of it for the user.
The model was successfully simulated, analyzed, refined and mathematically calculated.
